Bruce Hallsor elected chairman of the
Canadian Bar Association's section on wills, estates and trusts
Bruce Hallsor has been elected chair man of the Canadian Bar Association's section on wills, estates and trusts.
"Our society will face the largest inter-generational transfer of wealth in its history over the next 20 years and this will make estate
planning one of the most important and challenging areas of the law," said Hallsor of Crease Harman LLP.
His term begins September 1, 2009 and he will replace Andre Barrett of Borden, Ladner Gervais in Montreal. "Your right to protect and
preserve your own property is a cornerstone of our free society," said Hallsor. "And the job of estate and trust lawyers is to ensure that
people can retain and enjoy as much of your wealth as the law permits, and that they can leave it to whomever they please when they are gone."
